Is it really possible to trust a stranger?

Well, that's what happens when two people marry, for you really don't know your mate until you live together through years of happiness and tears.

Even then, do you ever really know each other? For you are constantly changing and growing, aren't you?

We have been happily married since 1950, yet I'm constantly amazed at how I have guessed her wrong many times. It is these surprises that keep our relationship from growing stale.

When you walk the walk of faith, you need to trust others. When you trust someone, you bring out the best in him or her. Even the worst person will manifest good qualities when another person trusts him or her.

But what happens when you try to trust people, only to have them let you down? Guard yourself against the cynical reaction of the negative thinker: "I'll never trust anybody again." Such a decision is an invitation to a haunting hollowness and devastating loneliness.

Instead, place your trust in Jesus Christ. Trust Him - even though you may not understand who He is, where He is, or what He can do for you. Trust Him--even though He may yet be a holy Stranger to you.

Trust Him. He will draw greatness out of you that you never knew was there.

Dear Lord, there is so much I don't know about You. But I do believe You are the reflection of the eternal God, and so I trust You to be my Friend. I ask You to be my closest Companion as I walk the walk of faith.
